Jackson

I was seriously so sure he would LOVE the bubbles, and um, well, not so much. He was much more interested in the dandelions!

This little guy was one of the best behaved little ones, I've ever seen! He was an absolute pleasure to work with! We hauled him all over and sat him down for pictures and he was such a sweetie pie about the whole thing! To top it all off, it was an absolutely gorgeous day!

Jesse just has that affect...

"Jesse just has that affect on some people." His mom said to me. It's unexplainable, but she is so right. This sweet, little guy grabs a hold of your heart almost immediately.

He has an amazing story. Jesse is an adopted child that has severe fetal alcohol syndrome. His mind will forever be innocent and free from the cruelties of life.

Last year, he went into cardiac arrest, and the family was told that it was time to say goodbye. Against all odds, he hung in there, and is happy and healthy today. I believe God has a wonderful purpose for this little angel's life. His smile alone is one of the most beautiful I've seen. Everday is a wonder for this child. The most ordinary objects, become extraordinary to this little boy.

Thank you, Jesse, for reminding me how beautiful dandelions are, how much fun it is to play

outside, and how to live everday more fully.

How Do I Love Thee?

The Ruth's celebrated their 50th anniversary this weekend, and I had the privilege of taking a few pictures for them. What a sweet couple they are! What a sweet picture of love for a lifetime.

Their daughter's family have been so good to us since we've moved here a few years ago. They took us in as family without hardly any introduction. They befriended us when we knew no one, loved our children, and fed us delicious food. =)

So because I knew their daughter, I already knew I had a great deal of respect for this sweet couple before I ever met them. They were still so obviously in love after so many years. Great example for all of us!

This is one of my favorite pictures of all time.

Happy Anniversary! May you have 50 more!!!!

Birthday Part 2

For the really fun part of Ethan's birthday we went to the Old Malt Shop in Gettysburg. Each of the boys got their own milkshakes - strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla respectively. The Malt Shop is a really, really fun place to visit if you've never been. As you can see, they have everything you could possibly want for treats!

When we finished our milkshakes, we walked around downtown Gettysburg enjoying different stores. It was a wonderful, wonderful day!

Ethan's Birthday Part 1

We had a lot of fun celebrating Ethan's birthday. No birthday around here would be complete without a cake from Cakes by Susie. If you live in the area and have never tried one of her cakes, you are seriously missing out! Give her a call for you next celebration or craving, just make sure to give her atleast a week's notice. She is a really great lady, and she can make an amazing cake. We told her Ethan loves lollipops, and this is what she came up with! Didn't I tell you she was awesome?!

We also found a really cool firetruck at the Biglerville Fire Dept. They were kind enough to let Ethan climb up on their truck and let us get some pictures. The truck has such a cool, old look, I wanted to put that effect on some of the pictures.

I love it all!

This week we celebrated my son's 2nd birthday. (more to come on that later) I know officially have a 4 year old, a 3 year old, and a 2 year old. People usually look at me like I'm insane when I tell them my children's ages. (seriously, sometimes I wish I had a hidden camera!) To be perfectly honest, I LOVE having them so close together! I especially love the stage of life that we are in.

There are so many things that I love about this stage, and I'm so afraid I will forget it someday. I love the way it feels when they slip their little hand in mine. I love the smell of a clean little one right after their baths. I love the dandelion gifts I recieve clutched it chubby hands. I love the hugs and kisses so freely given. I love whispers of "I love you, Mommy." I love that they think I'm awesome at everything. I love that a kiss from me can make it all better. These are just a few of so many things I hope I never forget. Perhaps if I should forget someday, just the smell of baby soap and the sight of dandelions will bring it all rushing back...

Happy Easter!!!

My sister came for a visit for the Easter weekend, and we took some fun pictures of her two darlings. Our fruit trees are blossoming, so we thought we'd take advantage of them and get some pictures in front of the apricot tree.
I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter! I am so thankful for all that this day represents, thankful that Jesus came and died for us, thankful that He rose again and lives for us, and thankful that through His blood, we too can live for Him.
